Make sure baby is matching deep enough. It’ll hurt for the first few weeks until you get used to it. Use some nipple cream between feedings

It will take a while to get used to it. If you need, get some nipple cream, you can also run breast milk on them and let it dry. If you are still in the hospital ask to speak to a lactation consultant.

the first couple weeks you’ll be sore. If you are still in the hospital ask for a nipple shield and if your home go buy one. It’s a life saver for your nipples not to hurt!!

Lanolin cream helps a lot with chapped nipples. You're not doing anything wrong if your baby has a good latch, but the pain lasted weeks for me and then went away. It got to a point where I dreaded every feeding but i just kept going. Once in a while it still hurts, but only when his latch is shallow and he's too stubborn to change it lol
