My 4 yr old came down with a runny nose then fever and about 3 this morning woke up coughing bad. Took him to be seen and he has an upper respiratory infection.

I would see what his temp is about 30 min after he wakes. It will be lower when he wakes just from sleeping. If he isn’t acting like there’s something majorly wrong (can’t keep liquids down, lethargic more so than sleeping extra, etc) then I would just schedule an appt for Monday with the pediatrician to see what’s going on.
