I try to mentally prepare my daughter by playing YouTube videos of toddlers going to the dentist like once a day a week or two prior. When the day comes it’s familiar and she’s excited
My daughter lost her mind the first like 6 visits ( twice a year since 2) I would suggest talking to him. Show him a video on YouTube or something about what they do at the dentist or read a book. Openly remind him that the appointment is coming up.
She did surprisingly well and loves the dentist now 🤗 she only cried at one part and that was when they put that flavoring stuff in your mouth bc she didn’t like that taste lmao I was like really 🤦🏼♀️
And at her 3rd appointment (because dentist didn’t want her to hate him by doing it at the first) she had a front tooth that was broke in half at daycare fixed/more to added to make it whole I forgot what they called it but she never cried through the whole thing
Mine did great at 1 and also at 1 & 1/2. I suppose she is due for another appointment.
Does your son enjoy brushing teeth? Does he also know what a dentist is? Maybe show him videos of ones that are good and wont scare him off. Something that will interest him y’know? so he wont be nervous.
