Does anyone know if induced labor is more painful or riskier than waiting for your baby to come on it’s own?

Pitocin is a bonafide demonic substance. I didn’t get induced with my second but I had to get Pitocin because I wasn’t progressing fast enough and I was getting close to the 24hours allotted after your water breaks. As soon as it hit my blood stream my experience was exactly like @dontblockmesis-imjustspeakingfacts, Labor at home as long as possible.

My induction was a breeze. Labor less than 14 hours on both of them.

My first induction was a breeze! The second was the most horrifying thing I’ve been through. I’m not sure what I’ll do this third time around!

It's seems like those who love have more than one the first is more painful......and this will be my first.

Yes and no... I was induced with both of my previous pregnancies. My first was sooooo painful while my second was easy! Everyone’s different.

Being induced gives you a higher risk for needing a c-section. I was induced both times for medical reasons so I don't have a comparison but if I had a choice I would've waited because of the risk. With my second my Dr told me if he wasn't out in the next like three minutes I was going back for a C-section because his heart rate kept dropping. Everyone was running around like a chicken with their heads cut off getting shit ready. Luckily he came out during that push.

I was induced with both of mine and the first one was hell and the second one was a breeze. Just depends on how ready your body is and how easy it takes to bring forced into labor

I can say yes having experienced it.

That medicine makes your body do what’s it’s not ready for.

I personally this time want to delay the medication..

I usually start labor on my own but I get stuck at @ 4-5 cm and they like to rush me... not this time

@kenden93, I also had pitocin or whatever for two whole days after to keep me from passing big blood clotting so I had contractions for a whooping 5 days swelled up like a balloon

Definitely more painful. I was induced with my son due to pre e. I didn’t have an epidural. I was given pitocin. My body was slammed with contractions back to back. No break in between. With my daughter I went into labor on my own and no epidural. The contractions were strong but nothing like they were with being induced and I had a break in between contractions. If there is no medical reason to be induced, don’t do it. Let your body do its thing.
