Feeling like I can’t do anything right. Mother in law keeps pushing for us to put my almost two year old in speech therapy. I’ve been working on things with him cause I don’t believe he needs it. Asked a group on Facebook for other suggestions for different ways to teach him things we’ve been working on the alphabet and he loves it and they all practically said I was dumb for trying to teach him and he should only play. Like I’m not forcing him to do anything. 🙄

No matter what, you’ll never please everyone with your choices. Only one you gotta worry about pleasing is you and your child. Fuck everyone else and their opinions girl. You’re certainly not a failure if he needed therapy and you’re not a bad mom for trying to teach him either. You can easily teach him while playing so that’s stupid they wanna act like you stuck him in a desk and forced him to sit and listen. Regardless, no one will always be happy so ignore the ones calling you A bad mom. You’re doing just fine mama🖤

Don't worry about it. He doesn't sound behind at all. Teaching him through play is fine as his age. Teach him colors and then play eye spy, read to him, teach him baby sign language, sing songs

My cousin daughter will be 2 on the 22nd. She pretty much just baby talks. It’s hard to understand what she’s saying, but she’s perfectly healthy. Every child is different.

He says probably 20 words daily. I see nothing wrong with speech therapy and yes if he was older and I felt he was behind then yes I’d go for it. I just feel he talks enough now for his age. She claims he should be talking in sentences already & every two or younger ages I’ve been around does not do that.

Tell the bitch to suck one, excuse my language but that is your kid,she had her turn with her kid(s), it's your turn, you need to be upfront and tell her to back off, your kid shouldn't be talking that much at his age anyways, every kid grows at their own pace, you can't force them to grow

My son started really talking about 2 months after his 2nd birthday. We were seeing progress in him so we skipped speech therapy. We sang songs and read books mostly. Made sure to ask lots of questions that couldn’t be answered with a yes or no. It’s so hard when people are pressuring you. I commend you for trying to put in the work. Most people try to pass their children off. He’ll get it. Every kid is different.
