Anyone that tested positive for GD, what was your experience?
I had it with my two younger babies, I was insilin dependent and both my babies turned out fine my son was 9 pounds 4oz and my daughter was 8 pounds 14oz, on the bigger side yes, but fine.. although because of it I am now hypoglycemic (pre diabetic)
@mommy1991 not always..... rare but can happen, they test you again after baby to make sure it goes away.
@erikak maybe but I thought I was in the clear as well. Turns out it was just high hopes
@mommy1991 😬 that sucks... thankfully there are ways to manage it, and you are really not at "fault", it"s just something that happens at pregnancy unfortunately.
My daughter was only 7lbs when she was born. I really don't want to have to inject myself. I don't know if I could 😔
Yes i was insulin dependent and baby girl was born with low blood sugar so was in nicu till her levels increased.. some ppl only need to control it with diet which i started like that for a week bit after testing my sugar regularly insulin was the best option. Age wasn’t the factor as i had it with my second child at 26. They say if your first baby was big at birth more than likely gd will result in next pregnancy. All my kids were over 9lbs and only last two i had gd so i definitely need to health conscious to not develop it later
I was diagnosed with GD with my oldest. I had to watch what i ate and tried to stay on top of it. I was able to do it without having to be on any medication. With my youngest, i passed the test on the 3 hour test.
