My dr said I could take it Bc I was at risk of preeclampsia but said it was up to me Bc the only factors I had for being at risk was a first time mom and being a little over weight so I decided not to take it and I didn’t get it
@nailqueen, @kimberly_preemie-mom, @smile-your-beautiful, @rmreed, thanks mamas, i never had preeclampsia before, this is my 4 pregnancy and today when i went in to my first prenatal for this pregnancy my blood pressure was high so i was prescribed baby aspirin daily. i was just wondering the risk/benefits? the doctor didn’t say i had preeclampsia but more like a precaution 🤔
I can’t really describe it, but I believe the point of the aspirin is to help prevent issues with the placenta. It’s supposed to help keep the blood vessels open, allowing more blood flow and prevent your blood pressure rising. Preeclampsia has to do with the placenta not working properly and the baby aspirin is supposed to help it function better. What I do know is.. I had my second at 29 weeks, and with my third I had taken baby aspirin and made it to 35 weeks.
@kimberly_preemie-mom, ohh i see. thanks for your response, i will follow doctors orders and take it, because i had my twins preemie at 31 weeks and i want a healthy pregnancy and a healthy baby. i hope it makes me feel better also
