Quick question, would you be pissed if your parents called and told you they got your childs hair cut?
Backstory my parents were watching my little one the other day while I helped a family friend move. So they took lo and nephew out for the day to Lego land, got my daughter a helmet for the four wheeler, new sgoes for both kids and my nephews hair cut (they have full custody of my nephew so they don't have to ask). But they called me thinking they were being funny (not even a hint of a joke in their voice till i lost my collective sanity) and told me they got my daughters haircut! I was pissed. I still am and my hubby and I have decided that they will no longer be allowed unsupervised around my daughter. Like play a different joke tell me she spilt or ruined her clothes, put plastic wrap on my toilet or door jams, fill my room or car with balloons. Don't joke about altering my daughters physical appearance!
Also my daughter has never had her hair cut yet!
You're definitely over reacting. They didn't actually cut her hair. If they did I would understand but they didn't. They're your parents, I would just let it go
Yes only because I think the respectful thing to do is at least ask first. But it was a joke and hair does grow back. I think it's a little extreme to act the way your going about it. I'd understand being a little mad if it actually happened but it didn't. Instead just let them know you didn't take the joke too light and not cut her hair.
It’s hair it grows back 🤷🏼♀️ I’d be happy I’m not spending my own money I’d be glad they would have anything to do with them period .you should be thankful some ppl don’t have anything to do with there grandkids ..I came home one time and my kids ears were pierced I wasn’t mad I was glad 🤷🏼♀️
@cheetahgurl420 i have and no more unsupervised. It wont kill them to not have alone time with my lo.
@no062014 your dad sounds immature yes but...not like he would do any serious damage. Your child's hair WASN'T cut and your brother's motorcycle didn't have a title so how exactly was it sold 🤔...I'll be the one to say it you're being dramatic and irrational about the entire situation.
@massgirl motorcycle was sold for parts. It was an 87 honda shadow. Person only wanted it for parts. No need for a title if you are just using it for parts. And around where i live most people dont care if it has a title unless it was newer or a car. Plus you just file for lost title and put in the old address the vehicle was regustered to and vin and dmv will send you a new one.
So, they took your kid out to Legoland for the day & got her a helmet. They made a silly joke and now they aren’t allowed unsupervised around your daughter? I would honestly be grateful that they did all of that. I can’t imagine going to that extreme over a silly joke. It’s okay to be upset at first, but you’re definitely overreacting.
If they didn’t actually cut it no I wouldn’t be mad. They made a joke that wasn’t funny to you. Just let them know for future reference that those things you don’t feel should be joked about and that when it comes to those types of decisions it’s not their place to do it. I wouldn’t go to the extreme and say they’re now unfit to be around your child unsupervised.
I’m confused. They told you as a joke they cut her hair but didn’t actually cut it? And because of that you feel like they have to be supervised to see your children?
My child i only have ine and yes. There are consequences to your actions. I wouldn't put it past them.to actually go and do it
@no062014, I apologize, I didn’t realize you listed your pets as children until I clicked on your profile. If that’s how you felt before hand, she shouldn’t have been left with them unsupervised to start.
@dontblockmesis-imjustspeakingfacts I didnt think they were going to joke about getting my kids haircut. They didnt even tell me they were taking my nephew or they wouldn't have taken my daughter with them I would have found other childcare. But now they do not get to have her unsupervised. Nuh uh. No way. Mil list her unsupervised visits with my lo when she pinned lo down ripped through her hair with one of those round brushes with hard bristles and then left lo on the floor to cry herself to sleep.
Why not just tell them that the joke wasn't funny. That IF they were to ever actually do it then they would no being seeing the kids.
@no062014 I hope you at least said thank you for them taking your daughter to Legoland
@massgirl thought i could at least trust my mom. But not so. Considering she knows how he "jokes".
@massgirl I did thank them.for the helmet and Lego land and feeding her. Told them the joke wasnt funny and that they will no longer be watching her alone.
Umm if it was my daughter yes lol I would be furious!! takes way to long to grow back out but my son no he needs a hair cut like once a month lol 😆
My daughter also has these beautiful curls that will not come back when cut. And her hair isnt even past her shoulders yet so no cut needed.
@no062014, I’d be upset. They should ask before they do something like that. I wouldn’t be mad they did it just that they didn’t have the courtesy to ask you. My MIL cut a chunk of my sons hair and didn’t ask me.
@rosemom im livid that my daughter has beautiful curls and if they actually had cut her hair those curls won't come back, she has never had a haircut and I want a loc and to be present for my daughters first haircut. I also want my hair stylist sil to do my daughters first hair cut
