This just means you have 3 days to move out if not on the 3rd day they will start the eviction process. You will have to go to court for the eviction. A constable will come and serve you your papers with the court date on it which is usually couple weeks after they served you. So you will still be able to stay in your home. You can pay the late fees and rent if you can get the money before the court day. However the landlord can choose not to accept the rent (prob won’t happened cause all they want is their money) but if you go to court with the rent and late fees in hand then the judge won’t let them kick you out. The only reason I know this info is because my husband used to go to eviction court for a company he used to work for. Most judges are pro tenant.
Sorry that you are going through this. If you are struggling with the rent amount that you are paying, maybe consider downsizing. But, a 3 day notice is really harsh. It will be extremely difficult to move in 3 days, plus you're in your third trimester with a young child. Speak to your landlord. God bless you, mama!
@beetlejuice_beetlejuice_beetlejuice you have to take 2 life skills classes before they'll help. So I have to find time for that. Or you have to have a court ordered eviction notice or be living on the street or in a shelter.
@freckly and the life skills classes are only for bill help, not rent help. They wont help you with rent unless you're homeless or its court ordered but I was trying not to get as far as being court ordered.
