Any mom with kids with food allergies or use to have allergies.
When your child had a food allergy did they grow out of their food allergy? If so when did you find out they had a food allergy and at what age did they grow out of it? I’m just curious 😊

I did. I was allergic to shellfish but it did not stop me from eating it. I just remember my throat and tongue being very itchy every time. Now, I can eat them with no issues.

My daughter was allergic to shell fish shrimp is how I found out when she was two I gave her popcorn shrimp 🍤 that night she had spots and I never thought about her throat closing thank god it didn’t but the next day I ended up picking her up from daycare her eyes were swelled shut so she didn’t eat it again so I let her try it when she was like 11 and she was fine 🤷🏼♀️
My daughter had a dairy allergy. We suspect since she was born. We found out when she was 9 months old. She outgrew that allergy when she was 2. She's also had a tree nut, peanut, and egg allergy. Figured those out when she was around 1.5 because she had a similar reaction to the foods to dairy. She out grew peanuts when she was around 3. She's almost 5. She still has a tree nut and egg allergy. Eggs she can eat if they're baked into things though. We go back to the allergist once a year; her annual appointment is coming up and I'm hoping she's allergy free but I won't hold my breath.
@mommakayla18 that's interesting. Around here any kind of food allergy a person automatically gets an EpiPen. I had know idea they can tell the severity of it through a blood test or the prick test.
@massgirl, yes especially thru a blood test. A 0.10 is no allergy and it can go all the way up to a 6 which is the most extreme allergy you can have. And they can test way more allergies thru a blood test like for mold and everything it’s crazy
@mommakayla18 my daughter hates the prick test. I think we're at the point that the blood test will be the easiest route. She's only had that once though when she was an infant
My daughter around 9 months old broke out from eggs in a donut.
She outgrew the egg allergy around age 3.
Thanks for responding! Was she low, moderate, or severe with her allergy?
@mommakayla18
I believe moderate. She wouldn't eat them by themselves.
Only in baked goods. She got hives
