Is it wrong of me to be annoyed hat all my son hears in the background of whatever he's doing is constant gunshot sounds from this game that his father plays? Whenever he's home were constantly hearing the sounds of different kinds of guns going off from this damn game. It's single shot rifles along with semi automatic and machine gun noises. I don't want him picking up on it and repeating the noises when he goes to school, especially with how sensitive the whole gun topic is. And YES he wears headphones, but you can still hear the gunshot sounds clearly even if the tv in the living room is on. Now ive got nothing against guns, we have a few put away in lock boxes, a rifle and two handguns, but he never sees them. I just don't think it's healthy for him to constantly be exposed to the sound of them. He's turning three tomorrow and ive already had to tell him not to try to copy the sounds as he's done it a few times now at home when he's playing. One time he pointed a Lego at his sister and did it. I'm working on getting him to not do that again, but with the constant sound of gunfire from this game in the house I'm worried it's just going to get worse. I'm worried he's going to start preschool and I'll get a call from his teacher that he's making shooting noises and pointing toys at the other kids and it becomes a problem.

Yeah I would be worried too. Have a serious conversation with your husband. Can you guys solve the noise issue? Is it turned up too loud when the headphones on? Can he move it to a bedroom so he can close the door? Your concerns that he's mimicking it are valid. If your husband doesn't take you seriously I would just cut the damn wire to the sound connection so he got the point 🤷♀️

I understand you’re worried. I would be too. Can he maybe turn it down ? Which headphones does he use ? Also what @massgirl, said about moving rooms

Definitely have a conversation with him. I had to have to this conversation because my nephew whom I’m the legal guardian got put of school for this behavior. but definitely agree with @massgirl.

I’d be concerned about the noises, as well as the the fact that I’d want him present with the kids. I’d be uncomfortable if he spent most of his free time playing video games instead of being with his family.

That's another issue Ive got with it entirely but he's got a clear addiction to it we're trying to fix, he's going to see someone about it. but until then the sounds are becoming more of a problem right now. My son's starting to imitate the noises and with him starting to spend more time with friends and starting preschool next year I don't want to to be an issue that gets him in trouble.

I’d sit down and have a serious talk which it sounds like you have, but maybe ask why he needs it so loud? If he has headphones on it shouldn’t be that loud and he’s probably damaging his ears. That sounds so frustrating
