Is it okay to go in to L&D before you reach the 5-1-1 standard? Having irregular contractions, but they are starting to get painful enough that I'm reaching my threshold.

We went in because they did get more regular and closer together and painful. Unfortunately I'm on at 1.5 cms and about 80% effaced. Glad we are here though, because the contractions are making babys heartbeat dip.

@bunsinmyoven it mostly has. Hes been really picky about how I'm laying, but it's been much better. I went from 1.5 cm to 5 cm in an hour, and my last check I was at 7 cm. They are talking about breaking my water soon, but I almost wonder if Ive felt it leaking out a bit. I have an epidural, so a little tough to tell.

@aurorabourealis, good you went in! My second I progressed from 5-10 in under and hour! I was 1 cm ab 4 hours before that. Your body is doing its thing! Did you tell them you feel trickling??

Yes go, it's better to be safe than sorry. But if you're still unsure since you are getting conflicting advice here. Call the hospital and speak to the nurse on duty.

Seriously??? How is this good advice? So what if she might be sent home? She said she was close to reaching her pain threshold.

@bsunshine Well....MY thought is that your thoughts were uninformed and potentially dangerous. And by the way... It doesn't matter how many eye rolling emojis you add to your response, your advice still remains imbecilic.

I mean seriously, how can you even be remotely confident telling someone not to go to the doctor?

There's absolutely no way you are able to correctly assess the situation, but sure Jan go ahead, tell the woman to not seek medical advice. (Insert " you're a dumb ass" emoji here)
