So I read that most of the time intense prodromal labor is caused by a posterior baby (“sunny side up”). How to I get this baby to turn so I can get the real labor started. I really don’t know how much more of this I can handle..
Your only 37 weeks it sounds normal. Did the dr tell you that your baby is sunny side up or your just assuming? At this point it’s normal for you to stay 2 for weeks as your not full term yet. My dr won’t even check for dilation until 38-39 weeks. Your having Braxton Hicks contractions which yes can get painful near the end since there’s not much room left. Hang in there.
If you suspect something is up then call your doctor. They can advise you if they think you should go in or not. I went in for my 39 week appointment, was not dilated at all. My doctor said he’d see me the following week at my next appointment. 2 days later I was in labor and had my baby. Dilation is not really an indicator of when baby will come. My doctor won’t check for dilation until 40 weeks.
I totally understand your frustration, pain and that you are uncomfortable. Hang in there mama.
That’s how I delivered my daughter. Everything went fine. The labor pains were horribly awful. Like my back was breaking. I don’t remember what it was, but I was given something that made me feel drunk until I was dilated enough for epidural. I was then able to relax a bit. I didn’t know my baby was sunny side up until I was checked when I went into the hospital in labor. I was only 2 centimeters dilated and they normally would have sent me home but kept me because of the extreme pain I was in.
