My eldest had rusk and porridge at 5 1/2 months and then 6 months he ate what we did.
Bobby, I have started purées as he wants food but doesn’t have the chew motion, he’s tried to hold toast but just licked it. Purée he’s having about 1/4 of a pouch a day if that. He’s 5months 3months corrected.
Baby led weaning at six months started him on whatever we were having. Wouldn’t ever use baby rice as nutritionally it’s not great. BLW is so much easier.
I started Noah on aptamil porridge when he was like 4 months maybe a bit earlier, then when he was 6 months i started him on baby jars, veg and fruits xx
Look up BLW. It’s much easier if you can just feed them what you eat, obviously being careful of excess salt. As @vixster, said baby rice has no nutritional value, it’s a filler, which means it makes baby feel full but there are no benefits to it. It’s a mass of empty calories. If you’re going to wean before 6 months(that’s the recommend age) I would stick to one meal, with limited variety for as long as possible until he’s at the recommended age. His tummy will still be very small and very sensitive so adding more flavours might upset it.
I didnt use baby rice just straight to pureed veg 1 a week before something new and then try it again a few weeks later as it takes so many times before a baby can like a taste or something
