I could kill my fsil!
Just got home from an ER trip with my almost 2 year old bc she sprayed herself in the face with a mixture of water and tea trea oil (we use it in my home as a natural deodorizer).
We had just got home from a trip out with my mom. I set lo in the gated living room which is also lo play room. And I went to run to the bathroom real quick. Then I hear lo start screaming holding the spray bottle and the mixture dripping down her face.
I scoop lo up, call my mom back, and while i wait for my mom I start flushing lo eyes out. Thankfully er said flushing her eyes was perfect and lo will have a couple days of irritation (blood shot, itchy and watery eyes).
Fsil used the spray apparently earlier in the living room when she stopped by to see if we were home bc the dogs made a mess and they made it stinky (i live in a tight nit community and no one locks their doors). But fsil left the spray on my tv stand and didnt say a thing that she had stopped.
She knows I have an almost 2yo that can reach and climb anything. She also knows better then to leave anything in the living room that could be dangerous to a toddler. I do blame her!
In the 5 years i have lived here and the 30 years my in laws lived here before me, we have never had strangers walk into the house. I also work from home and am usually home 95% of the time. I also have 2 very large dogs, and some kind retired neighbors that enjoy the time sitting outside. I get a package dropped off they call, my dogs somehow escape the house (my dog busted 2 plexi glass windows to get a squirrel) they call, strange people we don't know they call.
Locking the doors is just not something we do or are even used to do. We tried it a couple times and we either forgot our keys or lost our keys. After the 5th time of it happening we said screw it. If someone gets past our neighbors, my 2 large dogs they can have whatever they want. Nothing in my house is worth taking anyway. I dont own jewelry, my husbamds guns are hidden in a false wall with our important documents.
Damn glad she’s okay but idc how gated and small my community is id never leave my doors unlocked .
I wouldn't blame your sil, I'm sure she didn't mean to. Also you should lock your doors in the future so you don't have anybody messing around the house. That way surprises like this wouldn't happen.
