Tattoo'd and pierced mommies, do you find it hard to make friends with other moms because of your tattoos/piercings/fun colored hair? Ive wanted tattoos for a long time, but im always afraid that I'm going to have an even harder time making mom friends if ive got colored hair, tattoos and piercings. I had my nose, belly button, and two piercings on each ear and then an anti-tragus piercing on one and have taken all of them out since becoming a mother. I don't have any tattoos because I'm afraid other moms will see them and once Henry is in kindergarten other parents might not want their kids around him because of the way I look. It's probably an irrational fear, but it's always in the back of my mind. I'd love to have my nose pierced again and blue(just an example) hair and all the studio Ghibli / Cat tattoos I desire, but I'm afraid that since I'm already a young mother (23) that having all of that on top of being younger that I'm gonna get myself, and my son shunned when he goes to school. 😒

I personally think you’re over thinking babe. I have 9 tattoos and counting. No one really treats me any different. 😘
And I’m 23 with two kids too lol

I don't piercing anymore but I got tats and never found it hard to make friends with them. People with tats are normally the cool ones lol. I don't care if someone has them or not.

Nope. I personally am (when having friends) was the pierced and tattooed and crazy colored hair one, they were all Hollister and Abercrombie and Fitch kind of style. It has nothing to do with looks. If you have the right friend, they are your friend because of you, not based on your appearance.

Just kidding. We were at Great Wolf Lodge and my 6 year old sidled up to another mom in the pool to check out her gauges in her ears. She swam circles around her silently, then glided over to me. I looked at the other mom and said, "And NOW the questions begin...." She laughed so hard.
You're over thinking it a bit. If someone is that judgmental you probably don't want to be friends anyway.
But kids are going to ask a lot of questions. :)

I have 3 tattoos bout to get my sons names on my hand wrist but it's not hard if they dont like it oh will and I had my nose belly and tongue done bout to get my nose done again and I had every color possible and I'm going to do that again so no shame in what you love

I don't find it difficult at all! Your tattoos and body mods don't define you whatsoever. Be who you want to be. If they don't like it or accept it they aren't your damn people. 🙏🏻

I'll send you some pictures of my galaxy hair. I was a nanny at the time. I also had my septum for years and still rock a nose ring. My thigh is completely covered in tattoos and I have one on my foot and wrist. It never effected my ability to find amazing jobs nannying. I just never have friends anyways. I suck at keeping up.

I had red hair, tattoos, piercings, gauged ears, and I’m kind of a metal head. Only people that look at me funny is old people, but because my attitude the friends I make are awesoem. But I find it hard to make friends, cause I worry to much. Not my tats or anything

Nothing wrong with piercings and tattoos while being a mother. It's a form of self expression. I know lots of moms that are tattooed or have both
