Sooo been a min, but i have a question. My son is a little 1 year and 7 months old, and still isnt really talking. We do the usual read all the time, repeat words of things all the time, try to get him to repeat the words back before we give him whatever it is, etc. But he hasnt really said anything. He babbles 24/7, and will say uh oh in the right context, and sometimes calls my dog dash (her names dasher), but nothing else. He's very advanced physically, like already trying to potty train, been walking since before christmas, and hes very smart. Hes just not verbal. Any tips?

Don’t worry too much my son didn’t say anything but babbling and mama and dada until he was a little over 2 years old. He passed all of the test and they are still trying to say that? I would find a new pediatrician then.

Ive been wanting to regardless, this is just one more thing to add to my list. This same pediatrician made us quit breastfeeding because DS was only gaining about 8oz a week (consistently 8oz every week, but he said it wasnt enough), tried to chew us out because we gave him watered down juice at 1 year (literally like 1tsp of juice and like 2 cups of water), said he didnt have a lip tie when he was a baby but now its so severe he referred us to have surgery, said he had a clubbed foot that miraculously fixed itself in 3 months, and is now complaing that DS gained too much weight (6 lbs in 3 months, but is only up to 33lbs at 33 inches tall) and he's non-verbal autistic.

Give it time. My daughter really didn’t start til 2. And my niece didn’t talk til like 3.5. We were so worried that something was wrong with her but one day she just started talking like full on...it was crazy.i guess she didn’t feel like that talking to us before that lol

Lol i swesr i never worry until this crummy doctor says something. He criticizes everything, and his new one is he thinks hes autistic because he isnt verbal. Mind you, he passed all other symptom checks with flying colors, and he knows how to communicate with us. He points/drags you to whatever it is he wants, but he just doesnt talk yet

don’t worry my oldest so talked almost full sentences at 1 yrs old and my 2nd son talked at 3 yrs old ,all kids learn differently and my last son not talking much either at 2 and half but ,understand s all I say or what I tell him to do and yeah points to things or will even go in fridge to get his container of almond milk hahha
