So milky mamas breastfeeding support is still down on Facebook, so I'm coming here. Does breastmilk actually help with ear infections? My 3yo has ANOTHER ear infection. I swear he never catches a break, and his ears get bad quick.
Would it be beneficial if I let him drink breastmilk from a cup everyday as well? I'm an over producer, so I could easily produce enough to give him a cup a day and still freeze.
I hate to break it to you.. but with ear infections, it takes an antibiotic to clear up.. especially reoccurring ones.
It would probably would boost his immune system to help heal it quicker and possibly prevent the virus that caused it in the future. I breastfed while my daughter was sick with her ear infections and I'm sure it helped.
If he keeps getting ear infections you should have him evaluated by an ENT. My daughter had awful ones. And got them as soon as she would get off antibiotics for the previous ones. She got tubes and has not had one since.
@massgirl his doctor said he doesn't have them often enough for tubes 🤦♀️ he gets like 3 in one month, then has a month or two of a break, then gets one again.
@ejwsmomma120215 yeah he may not qualify. My daughter was getting them way two often. I think she has like 16 in 18 months before the surgery.
When my older son had an ear infection I put a few drops of breastmilk in his ear a few times and the next day he was fine!
