Okay totally not mom/pregnancy related, but I just went to a restaurant I go to every once in awhile.. it’s way over priced but I wanted something, but I went to pay with exact change and the employee told me they don’t accept change and they round up the total. Like whaaaaaat?!?! Is that a thing in the restaurant business now??

It’s up to the server typically. Some restaurants it’s like the norm. At Cheesecake and Pf Chang’s they do that as well. If it’s under $0.50 we round down, and if it’s $0.51 then we round up to the nearest dollar. But like, the bill still says “$78.43”.

@kimberly_the-preemie-mom, oh yeah, no. If you have me $80.43 on a $78.43 bill, I’d definitely take the coin and give back $2. Money is money - we can’t tell people they have to pay more. That’s weird.

see, that’s what’s weird to me too! If I have exact coin change, they should accept it! And there’s no sign saying they don’t accept coins. My grandparents thought the girl was pocketing the money. I just thought she was too lazy to do the math. 😭

@kimberly_the-preemie-mom, if it was me, I’d write a yelp. Maybe she’s an idiot and the owners trying to explain to her the ways like I was talking about at first, but she don’t understand it. Or, maybe the whole establishment is being shady. Others deserve to have a heads up.

I feel like that's odd... Why would you have to give more money.... The server seems like they don't want to do math. I went to a restaurant where they tried to do something like this, and in the end it ended up being really wrong like they couldn't count. Idk if she was stealing money or really couldn't add and subtract simple math but she had to fix it twice and then we didn't go back. It was good food too
