Hey guys so listen...I have 7 more months until this second baby comes and I am NERVOUS. My son is such a jealous little boy. He hates when people hug or kiss me or are too close to me even when the person kissing me is his father! How am I gonna prepare him for his new baby brother or sister so he doesn’t get mad all the time or jealous?
I can’t stop worrying about it. Any advice?

Get him a doll. Carry it around, "change" and "feed" the baby when you're home. Make it a bed in a laundry basket with pillows. I was worried about my son too because he was very attached to me. But he loved he doll and now he absolutely loves his little sister. We waited until we knew the gender and bought a girl doll since he was getting a sister. We used the doll to teach him to be gentle with the new baby too. He can't get enough of his sister, hes constantly asking to hold her and loves kissing her head.

Aww I did try that with a different baby doll but I wasn’t as active pretending to care for it. Maybe that’s what I did wrong. He beats up the baby doll. But I think I’ll try your way and see if it gets better. Thank you! 🤗

maybe it will help if you do. Don't treat it like a toy, it's a learning tool for your son. So be very firm about him being gentle with it and explaining how you're taking care of it and reward him when he is nice to it. You can try asking him to help you feed and change it too so that he feels included.

Okay I’ll try that! Thank you! 🤗

On top of the suggestion of giving him his own “baby” to take care of (I used a stuffed animal, but it could be anything), make sure you get a present “from the baby” to big brother and give it to your son when the baby is born.
