found out a few days ago from an at home test that i was pregnant, first thing i did was call my Ob i had for my first pregnancy. she thinks i am 6 weeks along already but my appointment isn’t until next week. i’m wanting to tell my parents and in laws that i’m expecting again but kind of nervous about the “jinx” people say happens if you speak about your pregnancy to early on... anybody believe in the myth of miscarrying if you speak on it this early on?

I don’t think it’s a myth but it’s very common to miscarry early on, especially between 4 to 6 weeks.

I think it’s a 50/50 chance of having a miscarriage and then it drops to 10% when you reach 14 weeks.

I don’t think it’s a myth and I try not to believe in stuff that will stress me out.
Miscarriage just happens that’s why it’s better to wait.

I waited until the chance greatly decreased.

Congrats and no. Myths and old wives tales are just talk. I prefer to look at things from a scientific basis.
