Experienced moms..Did you all tear during delivery with your first? I’m expecting with my first and I keep watching YouTube videos on how to avoid tearing LOL I’m so fearful. Can it really be avoided ? 🤭if so how ...
I've had 5 babies, my last 3 completely naturally. My first is the only one I teared with which was only 1 stitch so barely even a tear. He was 8lbs, 2 weeks early. All 4 of my other babies I have not teared even a single bit! Their weights were 8lbs 14.3oz, 9lbs 2.3oz, 10lbs 6.2oz and 9lbs 3oz. I swear by squatting to pee in the bath tub before you bathe and also evening primrose oil inserted at 36 weeks pregnant (not before that because it can cause premature labor) it also helps stimulate your cervix to dilate you but some women it does not. Like me I walked around with my 10lber for 3 weeks at 4 cm dilated but it definitely helps efface your cervix.
Wow I’m impressed...thanks fir that info where did you purchase the oil from
@amao25 Thank you 💜 you can get it anywhere like walmart but I got mine on amazon. I'll have to look it up and get back to you!
I had 4th degree tears due to having an episiotomy. i believe i had 12 or 14 stitches
Two very tiny tears, 1 stitch for one and 2 stitches for the other. They were both second degree but as long as I didn't let anything rub, I didn't feel anything but the soreness. The nurse did some stretching exercises with me while we waited for the doctor.
I had second degree tearing with my first. Hardly anything with my second (still needed a few stitches). The first the recovery was horrible. Second not bad at all. I think you are going to either tear or you are not. I’m not sure if I would buy too much into prevention. I had 8 pounders. But I mean it doesn’t hurt to try! :)
Well let’s hope I don’t. 🤞🏾 Either way I’m sure I’m in good hands but it’s just you never know cause things could go completely left. 8 pounders lol either way Congrats on your lil ones 🙌🏽
@amao25, I hope you don’t either! A little isn’t really a big deal—- second degree is a killer. I can’t imagine what it would be like for a third degree. Thank you :).
I gave birth to 5. I only tore a little with my last baby. I even had twins 3 years ago n I didn’t tear with them. We can’t avoid it sometimes. But I honestly think i needed more fluids because dr had to pull out my last baby he wouldn’t slide out like my previous kids. I had all of them vaginal no surgeries
Wow girly you don’t look like you gave birth to 5. Your children are gorgeous btw. And really that’s sounds a bit uncomfortable did he use forceps ?
@amao25, Thank you I’m as surprised as you . I have a really high metabolism it’s terrible . It’s hard to gain weight. Dr told me to stop pushing as my sons head was coming out and she put her hands around his head n pulled him out.
I had a few first degree tears. Delivery and recovery were super easy for me. By day 4 I was feeling so much better. It was uncomfortable but not terrible with some ibuprofen and tylenol. By week 2 I felt pretty much healed up. It wasn't as bad as it sounds and I couldn't wait to get cleared!! I did have an epidural and I LOVED it. My contractions were extremely long and weren't stopping. They were continuous and I was honestly screaming. I had no breaks in between. I slept for two hours once the epidural was placed. Didn't feel any pain while pushing at all. She mentioned I had some minor tearing I think but I was too focused on baby. She was stitching me up when I looked down next. I felt the pressure again but no pain.
Ahhh This is definitely encouraging thanks so much! Hmm Epidurals are heaven sent lol
@amao25 They are, and you'll be so caught up in looking at that sweet little baby's face nothing going on down there will bother you. I nearly started hemorrhaging and almost had retained placenta but my OB was amazing and I didn't care what happened to me, she was so perfect. I couldn't take my eyes off her. 💜
I tore a second degree tear I didn’t feel anything the recovery a little longer I bled for like 2 weeks
Glad u didn’t feel that’s sounds painful just the fact that there’s different “degrees” of tearing makes me nervous. Does it leave a scar where the stitches were ?
@amao25, not at all and the material they stitch you up with dissolve so you don’t have to go back for that
I got the epidural and I didn’t feel anything when they sowed me down there but I’m not sure if you feel it or not if you don’t get it
Yes I ripped in 3 different places down there it was horrible! I didn't even know you could rip that many times
Omg I just clinched my legs together I’m so sorry 😫..how was the healing process ??
Yup I did with both of my kids but luckily I had an epidural so so I didn’t feel it at all lol but after tryna pee burns really bad they give you this little spray bottle that is heaven when you pee lol mines healed pretty quick tho like within a week I’m just a quick ass healer lol
@mimilovee, 6 months omg😂 lol I can see me doing something like that. Thanks so much that would be great I’m praying to God I don’t 😓 but if all else fails I’ll keep in mind what you told me about these “must haves” lol
@amao25, lol yes I just kept it it was good to have lol but yes the hospital will take real good care of you girl! The birth of my children is the best experience I ever went through even the stuff like contractions and everything you’ll be amazed what you body can handle it’s literally what God put us on this earth for. That’s why I’m on my 3rd one lol
@mimilovee, Lol girl you’re a true soldier I’m not even half way through and I’m already over this pregnancy 🤰🏽I can barely breath. But I definitely agree God is amazing for how he put together pregnancy and delivery.
I had no tear what’s so ever and I had an 8 pound baby and I’m really tiny so either I got really lucky or the exercise ball works
My daughter cut me since I was about to tear. He put five stitches in me, I healed five and had no pain after three days.
@amao25 hurted Everytime I went to pee until dissolved they gave me stuff to spray on it
Get yourself an exercise ball. When you hit your 3rd trimester, start bouncing and rolling on it in front of the tv for a good 30-45mins a day. Not only does this help the baby get into proper placement, but it helps toughen up the skin. It will help the skins elasticity, to help prevent tearing.
@jennatess, that’s pretty cool my Doctor is so old school he didn’t tell me that. That’s great advice thank you. I never used the ball but ima invest in one now cuz those few days after with that tear omg burns to pee lol it was the worst lol
@mimilovee, absolutely!! TjMaxx has them in their exercise section for $12.00-$15.00. 🤗
I didn’t at I’m completely fine I had lil to no pain after delivery
