Question Breastfeeding Moms: So my son is 4 days old; he is doing well at latching and eating (until he falls asleep). When I lay him down to sleep after diaper change, feeding and burping he is looking suck on something. In the hospital they gave him a pacifier without me know. Which I know creates confusion but that's the only way he calms down if he's not directly on the boob.
Any suggestions on what to do so hes not using me as a pacifier but he also not wanting to pacifier.
All my kids have breastfed and used paci, none ever got nipple confusion. Your safe to use paci don’t worry.
Just keep putting him on the breast. They use the breast as a paci, comfort, feeding, warmth, illness, etc.
I dont want to start that habit. My toddler did great without a pacifier.
Some babies need to suck. My last 1 is the only one who needs to. He started of with a binky. Now he sucks on 2 fingers. It is what it is. I fight that later on. He also was never confused.
