My daughters father can tell im nervous about getting an epidural because ive been looking up different alternatives. I really hope he can take off work this next week to come to the hospital where I'll be giving birth. I have an epidural consultant appointment so i can talk to him about what happened last time and what are the chances of it happpening again. And also what are my other options. Im horrible at explaining things.

I have nerve damage in my spine from an epi I had 13yrs ago. I was extremely apprehensive on getting another one but wanted all my options open as I was induced. I had a 34hr labour and after about 23hrs I made the decision to have one. This time was fine and I've had no problems. I don't know what you went through with your last one but the anethesist I spoke to explained that just because you've had past problems does not me you will again, nor will it effect your previous problem with it. My hospital got a head anethesist to come and do the epidural this time too. Just thought I'd share for a bit of reassurance.
