I planned 4 years for this pregnancy and was about to start fertility treatments to get pregnant and bam we ended up pregnant. When they offered me. The first step of genetic testing I said sure, but just cause I wanted to see baby one more time. Well that testing came back as 1 in 90 for down's syndrome. So yes I was a little concerned and decided to go forward with Nipt testing to get a better picture. Well my doctor called me and told me I needed to come in for the results and already I was worried. I sat down in that doctors office and my doctor told me I'm now 90 percent likely to have a baby born with down's syndrome. I was devasted, worried, scared so many emotions and so much unknown. I'll be honest and say my initial reaction was. I can't be a mom to a baby with down's syndrome, my life isn't fit for that. How much time will my daughter miss out on because I'm busy meeting the demands of someone with special needs. As it sank it I've come around and decided I can do this after all. We are going to do the amnio though so we have a 100 percent answer and we can plan accordingly for this baby. Everyday I wake up I'm still scared, more scared then I've even been in my life.

You had 90 percent chance from your nipt and wasn't born with it. You are very lucky

Same thing happened to my friend. She has a daughter with Down syndrome, they said her son has Down syndrome and gave her the option to abort. They said 100% he has it.
Her son is perfectly fine, no Down syndrome at all.

I would be aware that an Amino ,,,test can cause a miscarriage ! “All children deserve to be loved regardless of what a dr or society labels people ! My son’s old pediatrician was a amazing dr and his wife was a nurse they had 2 of their own daughters and thru the years they 20 adopted children with Down syndrome & Cerebral Palsy

Chance of miscarriage is actually less then 1% I’m not sure why you would even comment that on her post when she’s clearly going through enough as it is and is doing the amino because that is what her doctors have recommended and obv herself & her husband chose to do.

just because, a dr recommended it doesn’t mean has to be done Know your rights thank s !
Mimi··
no which is why i said and herself & her husband chose to do, obv they know the risks involved and have chosen to go thru with it.

Yes I've definitely done all my research and I want to know bevause then I will be able to plan for a baby and not have the stress of not knowing which is way unhealtheir for the baby. If God choses to take my baby from me at least I know I did everything possible to give this baby the best outcome possible.
