Can anyone tell me about their experience with speech therapy for a 3yo? Josiah was referred today…

My son is in speech therapy twice a week and even though he hasnt made giant leaps of progress I think it really helped him, hes finding more ways to communicate and uses sounds way more than he did a year and a half ago. Never feel ashamed to look into options to help them along.

My 2 year old is in speech therapy he understands what's being said and everything just doesnt feel like talking. That's what his therapist said but it has helped him a lot hes been saying more and he putting sentences together.

My daughter was in in home speech therapy twice a week for a year until she aged out at 3. She then went to therapy at the hospital for a few months but it was only 30 mins a week and it wasn’t helping her because by time we go to the room and got settled in it was time to leave. I ended up pulling her out because it wasn’t helping and I was having health issues. The in home speech therapy helped her. She starts pre k in August at the elementary school so I’m hoping her being around other kids will help. She will literally repeat anything you ask her to but she struggles to talk on her own unless you tell her what to say and she can’t answer questions like “what’s your name” even though she knows her name and can say her name. I often feel like I failed her but I just try to remind myself that every kid learns at a different pace and that I’m doing everything I can to help her. I get judged a lot by family and friends because she doesn’t talk a lot. Just remember it isn’t your fault and you’re doing everything you can to help him ❤️

My nephew's two and needed it and I have a cousin who's almost 4 and still not talking . Some kids just take more time. My sister in laws just thankful it's nothing more serious

speech therapy hasn't helped us at all so far. other therapies are helping though. don't feel bad. 3 is still young. language is hard. just keep using it and playing lots it will happen

My son is 4 and he just finished speech therapy - don’t feel like a failure it’s very common for kids to need speech ! I know so many !!! Don’t feel bad about it - every kid has his or her challenges we do our best to help and it’s totally okay to get help for your kid . You didn’t do anything wrong ! Hell do GREAT! It helped my son so much! I’m very proud of how far he’s come !
