How much would you ask for if you've watched a 2yo for about 45hrs (timer still going). Only thing provided was diapers and wipes.
Child is related to my daughter. I don't care about being paid but she'd like to pay me for watching her.
Second day was unexpected and thrown at me last minute if that makes any difference.

My babysitter charges $48*/day for that age group plus $100 per overnight. That’s her business so those are “professional” prices if that gives you an idea. For family, I would think no less than $100 would be appropriate.

You're welcome. Obviously situation dictates and sometimes we makes exceptions for relatives/friends, but if this person had to pay someone else, a fair price $50-75+ would be a good start. Keep in mind income, their responsibility level, how often you watch the child, and the reason behind such a long stay. All these things should be taken in consideration and whether you are watching the child as a friend/relative or truly just as a babysitter. Hope this helps give you food for thought.

that’s what I charge and I’m professional but that’s not far from my areas running rate for the daycare centers as well. But I make them provide food and snacks when I do take in kids

I wish I could find someone who understood how to make a nice income without killing the person they are sitting for. I just went back to work and make a decent income when working but have to send my kids to daycare because people in my area are incredibly unreasonable about how much they want to make. I would love to find someone I could trust to be a part time nanny for what I am offering but it is so hard! So instead of paying someone for part time work(which still comes out to some people's full time work after taxes and I'm offering cash pay) I am sending my girls to daycare when I am away and they stay home when I am home. Crazy that it's so hard to find people these days. You're a good woman to be considerate. People in my area want more than I make at my career.
