1. Your child needs to stay rear facing as long as possible. It's for their own safety. No there legs aren't to long, no two years of age doesn't just make them little forward facing adults, and no they won't be "fine." They may be fine for now, but once you get into a car accident, you may be wishing otherwise. It is extremely important for your kids well being to be rear facing as long as absolute possible. Rear facing saves kids lives! When a child is rear facing, it spreads the crash impact more evenly, it limits the child's head motion on impac, it keeps them more protected by the shell of the car seat. Children are extremely flexible because their bones and joints aren't yet fully developed, so rear facing is not uncomfortable for them. Oh and also, rear facing is not a choice to be made based on parenting style or opinion. It’s one based on scientific fact. So keep your kids rear facing and protect them, because they're trusting you to keep them safe.
