I’d say just be consistent with her getting it done so that she can get used to it. My daughter used to hate getting her hair done but now looks forward to getting it braided and stuff.

I've never seen a pic of your daughter that I can remember. Maybe once lol. But try putting her in front of the mirror so she can watch and do it every day so she gets used to it.

Yeah they never like it at first. My daughter even used to FREAK out with anyone but me just washing her hair. She's still really big on not getting ANY water in her ears or she'll flip her lid 😂😂.

You just have to make them sit unfortunately. Explain to them the importance of routine hair maintenance.

Now aside from the water and washing, she's ALL about getting it done lol

I agree with @meaux, as a mother of two daughters none of them like getting their hair done in beginning if your consistent with it they will get used to it and it will just be routine. If you continue to allow her to not do her hair as she gets older it will be a huge problem. My 5 year old still gives trouble some days but I try and do styles that will last longer. Maybe let her choose a braid style or accessories my girls love choosing their own beads or braiding string etc to their style.

I second the mirror. I have always sat my kids on the bathroom counter while I do their hair. Let them brush their teeth, play with random things on the counter, or use my phone or tablet if it's going to take long. I'd also do it every morning to make it a habit, even if it's just something simple like a ponytail that just needs brushed and smoothed out. My daughter has curly/fuzzy hair so I have no choice but to do it or it will look crazy lol.

Thank you guys I’m trying so hard it just sucks cause I’ll literally be doing her hair as she’s running around. I haven’t done anybody’s hair since my younger sisters got older

My daughter used to hate getting her hair done too. I let her pick out her own brush at the store and she’s got tons of bows and headbands and clips too. I let her decide on how she wants her hair styled everyday and she picks out clips and bows. Kids like being apart of the process and to feel like they have options and that their opinions matter. She also sits in front of the mirror so she can watch the process. Do it everyday, use gentle and encouraging words, once it’s just part of the morning routine she won’t fight you.
