Can I use a sling or a carrycot to bring my baby home from hospital as we don't have a car at the moment and I will not buy a car seat yet?.... I am thinking to take a cab.
No hospital will let you be discharged without a car seat. Even if your in a taxi they’ll want baby to have a car seat. They even checked our car seat and then made sure it was fitted in our car properly!
If your taking a taxi you still need a car seat. So you would have to either borrow one or you can buy some older models (2-3yrs old) on Ebay for like £50 brand new
For example recaro privia 2015 model is around £50
When I had my 10yr old I lived around 5-10mins walking distance and was still made to bring the car seat and go home in the car
Car seat only at my hospital too, if you know 100% you won't need the car seat again you could borrow one from a friend etc but just be certain it's never been involved in an accident
We got a taxi home and still had to have a car seat. We don't drive so literally had a car seat to get home & the rare occasion we used a taxi there after lol.
And if you say your getting a cab by law you will need a car seat or they will not take u also most hospitals wont even let u leave the ward without a car seat
@damarissuteu123 I don't know about law etc. But I was always told that you would need a carseat before being discharged. Even if getting a taxi they will want baby to strapped into the taxi in a car seat x
