I had to do it twice because of my BMI and my race. Some races are more prone to it as well apparently. I don't know if that applies to you or not, but can be another reason other than what @mb2424 said. I actually ended up having it when I got my second one done 😩
I do have a higher bmi. I don't know what race has a higher chance. I'm white. I don't know if that means I'm more likely. But again these things were true for my first as well and i didn't have to do this so it's weird. And I'm only 27
get rechecked hun it can affect even childbirth safety if you dip too low ❤️ I recommend centrum prenatal for anemia or nestle prenatal in pregnancy for nutrition

Mine does it if you have a history of gd, if diabetes runs in your family, or if your BMI is high.

thats weird. I have family history but I didn't have gd with my first and I didn't have to do it early my first pregnancy

I did and they didn't really answer me. I couldn't talk to my doctor. It was the receptionist. Anyway. I guess I'll just do it

I had to have it at 12w because I am 35+. But if you are overweight maybe they are just being careful and checking early. :/

It’s also optional though it’s your choice to take it just so you’re aware and you can ask your doctor any questions on it

@mommy1991, also warning if you have anemia they can’t even use blood glucose monitoring to help because it produces false results in checking
