Moved out of my parents house but will get the rest of our stuff as soon as my fiance gets off of work. Of course they are not happy and my dad is threatening to do a bill of sale on my car. Anyone know what that is and if they can actually do that?? My car is registered in my name. Only thing its non-operational, get tagged and get my tags. I have storage containers that is my family's but I don't know if they can take my car away from me. 😏 We are currently living in a hotel for a short period of time or at least until he find a permanent home and my parents have no idea where we are living because they are super nosy and judgemental. I just can't lose my car. I want to get my license and it was a miracle that I got it for $300! Anyways...I'm just wondering what it means if they do a bill of sale against me for my car. 😫

Do they have access to your title? If so he may be threatening to forge the bill of sale from you to them or someone else. Extremely illegal and can definitely be prosecuted if they actually go through with forging your signature, or trying to sell your vehicle out from under you.
Technically if it is not running and just sitting at their house they can call it abandoned and get an abandoned title for it. If its there I would find a way to move it and keep it off the streets
It was unopporational for a year from the previous owner but its mine. It's still unopporational but now that I've given birth, I can get my license
If you already own it and have the title for it with your name on it then they cant take it away.
Yeah as long as on paper it shows your the owner of the car they cant take it away from you. You paid the same amount for your car as I did for mine
Okay. I'm just making sure. I've never heard of that before and most of my belongings are in my car. My dad is probably just trying to scare me but I'm not backing down.

The legal owner is whoever has their name on the title. If their name is on the title then they can sell the car.
