Alot of things can make breastfeeding a challenge. My advice: contact a laction consultant. They can help and give you advice based on your current issues.
Huge hugs (but not chest hugs..... those hurt this early in nursing). π
But definitely seek help if you're struggling. 1 week in is hard but it should improve. If not get some help. My 2 struggled with lip and tongue ties and so breastfeeding was hard until those were released.
Get past month 2 and it becomes the easiest thing ever. I promise. If you have any questions on what is normal or want tips on how to make things easier or to get through it...feel free to message me.
growth spurts are VERY frequent in the beginning and can be so so so hard. Also, if you download the wonderweeks app...mental leaps can effect everything as well. It makes it easier knowing what babe is going through.
@katieblakebyron, i also see youβre in Ohio. If youβre on Facebook, join βBreastfeeding Centerβs Mama Chatβ. It is run by a LC here in Ohio for all Ohio mommas to utilize. It has been my lifesaver and I have learned so so much.
