People give my son dollars all the time and we’ve just been keeping them put up. I was thinking of getting him new coloring books and play doh and such so we have more fun inside activities. Is it wrong of me to use his money? He’ll be with me to help me pick everything out

I would save it. I go to the dollar store or Target and use my own money for things like this. My daughter is almost 5 and just started using her own money because she started learning the concept at school.
