so me and my biological father & his side I am not close with. He told me recently he wants to be in me & my child life now after YEARS. but disappears again. But if I tell him he can’t be in my child’s life because he not going to pick in choose when he wants to be around he’ll be upset! Am I wrong ?

I did the same thing! It really messes with your head-- I know firsthand. I've never been happier or more stable without that nonsense out of my life.
I don’t know how to politely tell him that it’s in me and my child’s best interests if he wasn’t around 😭it hurts cause that’s my dad but it hurts how he was never there also
You are definitely not in the wrong! I did the same thing to my real mom and real dad! I didn’t want my kids confused or to get hurt
Thank you ! My step dad plays the role of my dad and will be my child’s grandfather when they are older I will eventually tell them about my real dad. But for now that’s their granddad.
@amareenakiaa, that’s exactly how I am. My adopted parents are the only ones that they really know. They see my real mom at my grandmas Christmas but they don’t really know her.

Why do people think it’s okay to toy with people emotions and pick and choose when to be around ? I definitely don’t want my little one experiencing the hurt I have.
