Random vent of the morning.
So I am high risk since I had my last kiddo at 29 weeks, which means I’ll be seeing a perinatologist/ high risk OB doctor. We don’t have one where I live so I have to travel 2 hours away to my upcoming appointment. That in itself isn’t bad. I delivered at this hospital when I had my 29 weeker. I don’t mind driving. Etc. but what sucks is they made my appointment for 8am. I live in the mountains where “traffic” is an extra 10 minutes to your “commute”. Normally it takes 15 minutes to drive to the other end of town. So this big city hospital that’s 2 hours away when there’s not a lot of traffic is going to take me like, 3 hours to get to because I’ll have to deal with rush hour early morning traffic. Legit traffic. And of course it’s an appointment where I’m getting an ultrasound done so I have to have a full bladder. They know where I’m coming from and I understand there’s a lot more people trying to make appointments at this place, but their inability to be at least a LITTLE more accommodating sucks balls. Any time I’ve made an appointment for my son down in this health care system they’ve let me do later in the day appointments. Different departments, I know. But it sucks. Oh, and the appointment is on my husband’s birthday. I wasn’t doing anything for his birthday but this especially sucks because he can’t even go with me to this because he’ll have to take the older kiddo to school and be home with the little guy.
