Question. Can you get mastitis even when you aren’t breastfeeding? I quit producing around 3 months pp and she’s now 11 months. But the last couple months my breasts, mostly the left, have hurt and even some mild swelling. I don’t have insurance so I can’t go get checked but I’m just wondering if anyone has an idea if that’s what it could be.

Mastitis wouldn’t last months. I suggest you find a low cost clinic.

@valerie_jean, mostly pain on the left side of the left breast and occasionally a swollen lump in the armpit

I’d definitely look into getting that checked out. Not to scare you but my mom had breast pain with swollen axillary nodes and they found a cancerous tumor
