Are there any vegetarian mums on here? How did you go about weaning? Do you feed your little one meat? Some family members have been making comments when I’m feeding Harrison about how I need to start introducing meat. The thought of feeding him meat makes me sad as I find the thought of it revolting🤢 My partner isn’t vegetarian and he said I should just keep Harrison vegetarian until he can make his own decision to eat meat. I don’t mind what he grows up to eat it just makes me feel uneasy as he can’t decide yet😩

My auntie fed all 3 of her children vegetarian and they turned out fine, the oldest eats some meat now but not loads.

I'm not vegetarian but my daughter will very rarely eat meat as she doesn't like it much. I was worried about her not eating it and asked the HV for advice. And she wasn't worried and just said to keep trying. So I wouldn't worry about him not eating it if I were you. It's your decision on what to do but I also have a friend who's baby is a veggy and she's never had problems either she just makes sure his diet is varied. And I know how you feel about being worried about feeding meat as although I eat it I wouldn't want to force her to eat it. I sometimes worry there's a reason she rarely eats meat. Like maybe she doesn't want to and I feel like me trying constantly is the wrong decision xx

When I was a baby/toddler my mum and dad had such a hard time getting me to eat meat😂 Only way I would eat it was if it was hidden in meals. When I got a little older I jut decided I didn’t want to eat it anymore and haven’t since! My mum and dad always kinda knew I’d probably be vegetarian. My partners mum did attempt Harrison with a meat pouch and he wouldn’t take it so I think he’s like me for now😂 I have gave Harrison some quorn (it was spag bol mashed down) and he ate it! Maybe try her with quorn just to see? xx

she will eat it sometimes mixed with stuff but isn't a big fan at all. We keep saying we have a feeling she will end up vegetarian. All she seems to want to eat is cheese 👌🤣 And he might not enjoy it I guess🤷🏻♀️ some babies seem to take it better than others I guess xx

My daughter and I are. I did baby led weaning and absolutely do not give her meat. I read a study that vegetarian kids tend to be on the same growth curve as omni kids. Just make sure you have healthy varied diet. I’m lucky my family respects my decision. My son will be vegetarian too when the time comes.

My partners mum attempted to give him a cottage pie pouch thing and he wouldn’t eat it! I eat really healthy compared to my partner and I usually give Harrison what I’m having and it doesn’t seem to be affecting him in anyway so I think I’ll keep doing what I’m doing xx

I’ve noticed my daughter has an aversion to meat. She won’t eat faux meats so that’s comforting

We’re not vegetarian and my little girl hates meat (she will eat fish) ... she’s growing perfectly well without it so it’s not essential. Maybe let him try it when Daddy is there to do dinner time? And like u say, he’ll decide when he’s a bit older. xx
