This will be my first induction, to the mommas who've been induced how was your experience? Was it easy, was it a long labor or was it quick? Etc.
Omg!! Youre definitely a soldier!!! I've always wanted a water birth, that is so awesome!!!, I do want to try and get no epidural, but if its too much to bare then I'm definitely am going to get one!
@icestorm1123 I thought I would have more options for pain lol. That's my fault for not asking 😂. Yes def ask about what pain options are out there for you! I'll find that labor and delivery nurse article for you on inductions. You got this mama! 💗
Ill be 38 when they induce, they are inducing because the baby is measuring too small, something like the 10% less of what's he's supposed to be.
Mine was pretty quick. They gave me pitocin at midnight and I didn’t feel contractions until 4am. I pushed twice and she was out at 8:25am. They kept telling me pitocin made contractions worse and if I wanted to get epidural at any point to let them know. But it honestly wasn’t that bad, I was able to go all the way without the epidural
I was induced with my first. 24 hours total. I laid there and hung out...then I watched my Cavs lose the NBA Finals and spent the whole game screaming at the tv...then I tried to sleep a little...then the next day at about 9:30am I started pushing and had her at 11:06am. I only got an epidural bc I was scared. I didn’t get it until about 12 hours in though. And then spent another 12 before I had her. So there’s that. Lol.
@alyssa5792 omg I was surprised that I was going to get induced today, I knew I had a growth scan today but I wasn't too worried, and during the ultrasound everything was perfect, he measured tiny but she didnt seem concerned at all, and then once my OB came in with a printed out paper he was like yeeeaaahhh we're going to induce you next week. And he stripped my membranes as well so I do hope its quick and smooth.
@icestorm1123, wait...why would they induce for him being tiny? Wouldn’t staying in there and...idk growing lol...be a better strategy? I’m just confused by that logic. Not trying to be rude whatsoever!
@alyssa5792 my same question! He hasn't grown in the past few weeks, and has stayed at 33wks with no growth improvement, and he kept sending me to get a NST scan to see if the baby is stressed out especially because his movements have declined. but those NST tests come out good, so he said its for the baby safety.
I was induced with both mine the first one was 26 hours long pushed for 8 hours my second was 8 hours long pushed for 20.
I just think it depends on your body and how relaxed you are.
You’ve been through labor though so your body knows what it’s doing so hopefully it does go by fast for you I had bad painful contractions but idk if that was normal or from the pioctein
@icestorm1123, oh wow! Both mine were induced at 37 weeks exactly my first was 6”9 and my second was 6”11
@mombie. Omg!!! The first and littlest one was 5lbs 12oz at birth and my middle was 5lbs 13oz
@kimberly_the-preemie-mom omg oh wow that does give me some comfort for Tuesday omg
@icestorm1123, answering your other post here so you can see the times, I ate probably around 2-3am during my induction. The staff was pissed (jack in the box wasn’t the best idea), but I didn’t get sick or anything. Closer to go time they typically don’t want you eating anything in case you throw up.
@kimberly_the-preemie-mom ooooo okay I got it, they'll probably let me eat in the beginning
Mine was pretty long I didn’t push him out until 5:30 next day. I felt it was more painful than a natural birth. The Pitocin made the contractions way worse. That’s my personal experience. But I also have a low pain tolerance
Was 38.4 weeks. Went in at 10 pm. Started pitocin at midnight. Broke waters at 9:30 am next day. Baby was born at 3:30 pm. I had very high pitocin levels and intense very frequent contractions that were unbearable. I only could do Stadol for pain up til 7 CM. It wore off quickly. The doctor and nurses said I was one of the very few who did not do an epidural. Ask about pain options as soon as you can. I only had the choice of Stadol or epidural which I couldn't use. I had natural birth in water before my son. Would do that in a heart beat again. My first I was induced after being in labor already and had epidural at 6.5 cm. That's what caused me to never be able to take epidural again.
