Typing up my birth plan!
I put on there our baby's name, my name, and my SOs name. Also added no epidural, natural birth, and want delayed cord cutting and clamping for a minimum of 2 minutes, but would prefer until all the blood is out.
Also adding that we'd like him circumcised and strictly breastfed or bottle fed breastmilk NO FORMULA.
What else should be added???
@spookylyn not universally. As an insane person who is obsessed with birth videos, I watch birth vlogs on YouTube on the daily basically, and yesterday I watched five, all from within the past 2 weeks, and every single one cut the cord instantly- one mom even protested a little but they had already cut it. It should 100% be standard practice but just because it is on paper doesnt mean that's what's actually being done in hospitals, so I would definitely make that particular request known to everyone who might be in the room.
@spookylyn, had no idea. Glad I asked. Will def consider when comes time for my delivery.
I found example birth plans with little pics on Google and that's what I took. The nurses found it very simple to follow! I requested no episiotomy, no vacuum or forceps, and skin to skin
I applaud you. I punked out! B4 we had to have an emergency c section with my first. I started having pains. 20min in I said F natural edipural please! Then less than 30min later her heart rate dropped. So c section.
My mom still hates me to this day because it was my first son, I went in at 630am had him at 1142am, so i wasn't in labor long. The shower made me jump from 6cm to 10cm, so when i came out it was baby time
For them to respect your wishes! And if you prefer med in your iv or not. Also keep in mind many of us mothers wanted natural birth. But when that pain hits! Oh my God!!! if you really want natural birth you may want to ask about other ways to reduce pain.
If you don't want pacifiers add that! I would also add-
Who you want to announce the gender (if you don't know)
Who can be in the room during the birth
Who to not allow into the room
Any allergies or food preferences just in case
