Might sound stupid...but how do you start to potty train... ive no idea!!?

McKenzie is potty trained and I basically just left the potty in the living room, so he'd go up to it and at first he would play with it then eventually he took his nappy off and said wee wee and he just kept using it wirh a lot of praise took him a while to go a poop thou! After he was used to using the potty I would move the potty by the stairs and then after a while put it in bathroom and now he uses the toilet with the ladder seat thing! But really just follow him and good luck xx

As @mummyto2tinyhumans said star of by just putting the potty in the living room and see what he makes of it.. Once he starts showing an interest strip him off on the bottom half and let him go naked round the house.. Then after a while switch to just pants and then pants and trousers. Lots of praise every time he does go and if he has an accident just redirect and say wees don't go on the floor/in pants they go in the potty..

Kylan was pretty good in the sense that he would do a poo on it too pretty early on.. I then just asked him if he wanted to try on the big toilet. We're pretty much trained in the day now with the odd accident here and there and he will take himself off and go.. Next up is getting him out of pull-ups in the night but he still wakes up will a full one every morning so I think it's a while off yet lol x

I've just finished potty training Ethan in the day time. He was doing the dance and telling us when he was wet and had done a poo, we brought a potty and put it in the living room floor a few weeks and just tried him and said that it was for wee and poo. He then started saying me wee wee so were would sit him on, he would sometimes go, sometimes he wouldn't. Then one day when he woke up i basically took his night time nappy off and didn't put anything on him. Left him running around in just a tshirt. The first couple of times he made it then he had some accidents but he was doing well considering, every time he went on the potty he got a sticker and if he had a poo he got a sticker and a treat. We did 3 days nothing on lower half, 2 days with big boy pants and then pants/trousers from there. We only started it 4 weeks ago so he still wears a pull up if we go out in the car or buggy but will tell me that he's needs a wee so it's more for security. For the first week or so stay at home and have plenty of kitchen roll and anti bacterial spray/ wipes. If you have carpet get some puppy training sheets or for him to sit on the sofa on.

I brought 2 pottys, childs toilet seat, pants (a few packs), reward chart and stickers, some rewards (little cars/chocs/£1max nic nacs), kitchen roll and antibacterial spray, pull ups. Also give him lots of encouragement and praise when he does go xx

We are just starting as well, I am doing as said above letting him familiarise himself with potty and baby toilet seat. He sits on the potty in a nappy for a poo and tells me he’s doing a pee. I say we take our nappy off for pees and pops and do that in potty. He now pulls his nappy down himself but quickly puts it back again. His dad is home tomorrow so we are going to let him run around with pants off.

Some of the essentials I made sure I had in were pants, normal non button vests and extra socks
