Anyone had a blood DNA test of your unborn baby?? They want to test for more accuracy for down syndrome and birth defects. And want me to have that done. Then heard they have to stick a needle threw your belly and to the baby. I don't know why I didn't put 2 and 2 together, but does that hurt you or the baby??

Amniocentesis.. it can be dangerous to the baby so unless absolutely necessary I don’t think it’s necessary

They didn't call it that. But the doctor said it was because my blood test for down syndrome came back as abnormal they wanted a more accurate test

Please don’t do it!!! That’s why they have genetic testing that they do just by using your blood work.

My SIL was flagged for down syndrome in her NT test, they sent her for amniocentisis and that came back as baby having Turner Syndrome. She went her whole pregnancy stressing out and upset for baby to be born without either. No genetic defects at all. So it can still be wrong. I wouldn't risk it personally, it is really invasive and can be a big risk to baby. Ultimately it's up to you, but your far enough along now for it to be of no benefit as if you were to wait til birth to find out if anything is wrong as there is nothing really they can do.

If you know it wouldnt change anything..you'll still continue the pregnancy, you'll love your baby the same..it's just not worth the risk!

It's a big risk to you and the baby I would say just wait till the baby is born. They didn't do the NIPT (non invasive)?

Came back as abnormal so they wanted a more accurate test. After reading everything I'm not going to do it. I didn't know most of this stuff

ohhh ok yeah it could cause a miscarriage too I believe but it's good you're not going to do it.

What is the reason? I was got a positive on the non invasive for trisomy 18 I chose not to do the amino and I worried cried and stressed and when he was born he didn’t t have it.

I wouldnt do it! My pregnancy was crazy but I will say, they ran every test on me except for that one. I wouldn't allow it because I didnt want to chance it. They did my non invasive tests, genetic blood work, ect. We didn't care to have all that done because either way we wouldnt have terminated. We would have just done a care plan. My genetic testing came back completely fine and my baby was born with a genetic deletion. So they arent very accurate if you ask me.
Get a second opinion, then a third and fourth! 🤷♀️
One doctor told me my baby was growing and the sac wasnt, one told me that he had a hole in his stomach and was incompatible with life outside my womb, one told me he was just fine. When my water broke just before 15 weeks they told me he didnt have a heartbeat and wasnt moving. They SENT ME TO LABOR AND DELIVERY to have my baby. I refused medication until they proved he had no heartbeat and I saw it with my own eyes. I would have given birth to a live baby that had no chance to live because HE HAD A HEARTBEAT.
Doctors practice medicine because it's not exact. If it wouldnt make you terminate your pregnancy than dont do it.
