I wanna start giving my 2 year old mouth wash after brushing her teeth, but I’m not sure if it’s too early....what do y’all think???
Also from the ADA, “Children younger than the age of 6 should not use mouthwash, unless directed by a dentist, because they may swallow large amounts of the liquid inadvertently.”
Kids mouthwashes contain fluoride which isn’t recommended for children under 6 so I wouldn’t.
@mimixtmn, our recommendation is also using a grain of rice size under the age of three, then pea sized from 3-6 years.
@oneplusone, ya but here it’s only for children who are at high risk for tooth decay not all children, if they are not at high risk the recommendation is no fluoride at all until over 6.
@oneplusone, yup because my daughters doctor actually put fluoride toothpaste in her little gift bag after her checkup
I was thinking about that....but I wasn’t sure if she had to be at least 5
Thanks guys, I will hold off until her dentist says so
