Hi moms, so I have a few questions about storing breast milk which may be stupid but I really want to make sure I do it correctly and sanitary. I’m going to a bridal shower this weekend only for a few hours and I know I may need to pump so I’m wondering how I should store the milk.

1) what’s the best container to use when storing the milk? I seen somewhere online that mason jars but not totally sure.

2) how long will the breast milk last at room temperature

3) is it safe to add freshly expressed breast milk to already stored milk? For example if I already have milk in the refrigerator is it okay to add more on top of that?

you can use bags and take a lunchbag/cooler. or even just store in purse, more lightweight for you.

fresh milk non refrigerated can go about 4-6hrs in ideal temps.
get ice if you'll be longer than that.

personally I always added same days milk together and no issues

No, all milk that's mixed must be same temperature.
