Mommas that have had an epidural. I have questionsss that need to answered lol. Does the epidural hurt when they do it ? Do you still feel pain when you’re in labor after getting one ?
If you hold still and have someone good doing it, it is just a pinch feeling. It is super quick. You can still feel some pain but mostly pressure. It made the pain contractions almost completely go away, had to have the nurse tell me when to push because I couldn't feel when they were coming.
It kind of stung getting it. But the contractions were worse in my opinion. I’d do it again and again. My first epidural failed so I felt everything (I was induced and it was 25 hours of labor) But my second worked and it was heaven I slept and only felt the pressure when needing to push. In the moment the pain of the epi is nothing lol.
I give props to mamas who do natural but I just couldn’t. And there’s nothing wrong with that.
The epidural didn’t really hurt when I got it. Just a pinch. I was just more afraid than anything. I didn’t feel pain during labor and delivery. Just pressure. I love epidurals lol.
It’s like a shot in your back. So I honestly feel like it doesn’t hurt but your mind is what messes with you, all your thinking about is DONT MOVE OR I CAN BECOME PARALYZED LOL. And if it’s c section you literally feel nothing during or after it’s just soreness. But idk about labor. I never had a regular birth. Good luck love
With my first, it was done mid contraction so I didn't even feel it. With my second, holy cow that was a horrible pinch! It wasn't unbearable, but I let out a "oh f*ck!" I didn't feel anything but pressure after getting it both times.
The contractions were worse so I didn't feel anything but a pinch when getting it and did have to get it topped off because my little one wanted me in 18 hours of labor but no didn't feel anything while actually delivering I wasn't even sure I was pushing tbh lol and after I had no soreness they kept asking if I needed pain med and I didn't at all
Mine didn’t hurt when I got it with my first son, I was 3cm when I got it so I honestly think that’s why. And I didn’t feel anything when I began to push and deliver him.
With the twins I got to the hospital at 9cm and they insisted on me having epidural which I knew wasn’t going to work. And of course it didn’t, so when I had them I felt everything. Plus I think it depends on the person also
@lluvialemus02, if you can’t handle the pain GET IT!! I said I wanted to have a natural birth with no meds with my first son, and I got it the epidural as soon as I got there! It’s just up to you if you can handle the pain tbh. Not everyone pain tolerance is the same.
It's uncomfortable getting it, feels like a sting just for a second & a weird sensation. I didn't feel pain during labor for any of my 3 after it kicked in, just lots of pressure.
@lluvialemus02, I had been at 5 for hours already. I was induced with my daughter. With my son I was already at 10 when I got to the hospital so there was no time for anything lol
