We want to buy a better quality toy guitar for my son. He never really shows extended interest in toys. Will play with something for max of 30m-1h then move on to something else but I got him a toy guitar at the dollar store and the first night he played with it for almost 6h straight! This was a few weeks ago and now whenever he watches a movie or show where they play a guitar he will run and grab it and try to play along. 😍 Last night we were in his cousins’ apartment and I forgot a few years ago we got her a toy guitar for like $50 bucks and my husband asked if she still had it. She took it out and omg my son didn’t want to let anyone else have it and kept trying to pull it away from her where they eventually had to hide it from him because he was getting upset. :/ So now I think we need to get one even though he is still really young. But I am so happy he seems to really like music and instruments so far because I already planned on having all my kids take music lessons when they got older. I think learning an instrument is important. 😊

You can check out amazon and search educational toy guitar. They have a lot of options. And as far as a 2yr old playing with something a max of 30 mins to an hour... that’s a LONG time before moving on.

I didn’t think it was that short but him going from the 30-1h to playing with something and refusing to let it go for 6h was such a huge jump! He has never shown that sort of interest in an object before. He doesn’t have any loveys or pacifiers so was just so strange to me! 😂

yeah 6hrs is a bit unbelievable! I’d definitely look into ways to foster that enjoyment. Maybe find an age appropriate educational DVD ab guitars, books etc.

@phoebesmommy, I think he may be too young for really educational stuff (he doesn’t talk yet either). But when he gets a bit older that will be a great idea I think. :)
