I don't understand why aftermarket products for carseats are even made/sold anymore. Thank goodness I know they aren't safe but so many people don't know that. My mom had no clue shoulder pads weren't safe to add anymore and got some adorable ones. I had to explain to her they aren't safe unless they came from the box with your seat. I felt so bad. ☹

Nothing is safe if it didn’t come on the box. You can use them in your stroller, but not the car seats

No they aren't! Anything that doesn't come with your carseat shouldn't be used. (inserts, shoulder pads, head cushions, car seat cover to keep baby warm that you insert, etc.) They can alter the safety of the carseat because there is no guarentee they were ever tested on the kind of seat you have. They claim they're tested, but it's just a big grey area. They don't have to test on every model on the market. If it wasn't made for your carseat model specifically, I wouldn't risk it. They also effect harness placement so it can push your baby out of the safest position and you won't even know it. Super scary! These products being used can also void your warranty on the carseat so if god forbid there ever were an accident where your child were injured or killed they can't be held accountable. I hope this helps some other momma's out!

This was the first time we bought a car seat that actually came with nice matching pads. I didn’t know they sold them separately.
