So I was cashing out at the register with my daughter and the cashier asks my daughter her name and I said her name is _____ then my daughter repeats it to the lady and then she asked her “how old are you ______” and I said she’s 3 and again my daughter repeats that to her as well then this lady asked me “oh is she autistic”... how rude?! To assume and just ask without hesitation! (There’s ABSOLUTELY nothing against anyone who has autism let me make that clear!) I said “NO, she has a delay in speech which she is taking therapy for”. Not only that but my daughter is shy around strangers! She says “oh”... not even an apology or anything! I don’t get how people are today, they feel entitled to say and ask anything! 😒

Wow I would of been pissed. In all honesty I feel like the past few years people throw autism around for everything. Like back in the day you would never hear of autism and now it seems like that’s all you hear. I have nothing against autism at all! but I feel like it’s thrown around way to freely.

Dude that kind of stuff is rude!!! I was always judged for my son not talking as well. He was 4 and in speech therapy before he started making progress. People need to stfu.
