Anyone know about shots? Chicken pox (varicella) specifically?
I had a bunch of lab work done recently and my OB sent me a message said “you are not immune to the varicella virus. You should avoid anyone with chicken pox or shingles.”
Does this mean I didn’t get vaccinated as a kid?!?!

Yes means you didn’t get the vaccine when you were little.

Idk how old you are, I'm 32, I don't think it was a common vaccine to get back then. It's a more recent one to get.

I’m 29. I’m in California which I thought was one of those strict states that wouldn’t let kids go to kindergarten and then go to 7th grade without certain shots. We were like, anti religious so I know my parents wouldn’t have been able to use a religious excuse to be exempt for it.
I’m waiting for my nana (grandma) to see if she has a copy of my childhood vaccinations. I’m freaking out because if I didn’t get vaccinated for it, I’ll have to wait until after I deliver to get it, and I have anti vax neighbors and live in a tourist town where it would be easy for me to catch anything. 😵

Until fairly recently chicken pox vaccine was a separate optional vaccine. Now they include it in a multi shot. I wasn’t vaccinated for chicken pox either and I’m 25. I think it only became more popular in the last 10ish years.

I wasn’t vaccinated for it either I’m 30 so when my older brother got chicken pox she put us in the same room so I would get them, hell it worked lol 😂
