Since B.’s already 12 months and had a whole milk allergy reaction... his pediatrician told us to give him vanilla soy milk (for flavor) and to ditch the soy formula cold turkey. 🙃 The problem is.... Bellamy’s not feeling the vanilla soy, so what am I supposed to do if he’s not drinking his milk? We’re out of formula, and he refuses to drink water too. 😣 Am I doing something wrong?!😞

I’m not a fan of the vanilla soy milk but I do like the “original” flavor

When my daughter caught her dairy allergy I gave her elecare Jr. it’s a hypoallergenic version of milk and after that I gave her almond milk

Try giving him regular soy instead of the vanilla soy my son liked the regular because they were also testing my son for an allergy because he has blood in his stool but thankfully he doesn’t have an allergy to milk but my son likes the regular soy so maybe Bellamy will like the regular better than the vanilla. You’re doing everything you can don’t bring yourself down you aren’t doing anything wrong at all!

@amberdaugherty, Another question! How did you do the morning and night feedings? We put almond milk in a sippy and gave it to him, but he’s refusing it when he wakes up in the early mornings. :/

@miaheka, I usually give my son a bottle instead of a sippy in the morning and at night but sometimes he won’t want his bottle in the morning so I’ll just give him Cheerios or cut up pieces of fruit instead, it’s normal for them to refuse stuff and have odd feeding habits at this age because they’re still getting used to eating normal foods and drinking normal milk instead of formula. My son has trouble too at times I think it’s just them trying to adjust.

There’s coconut milk, almond or cashew milk. You can try for him.

@miaheka, he will have a few days like that with the sippy but will learn to love it, usually you’ll have to try a few shoots before he finds one he likes. The good thing about almond milk is that it’s not dairy and is lactose free also. I would try a little of it to see how he does . Or even the plain soy milk.

@denisse.m, thanks girl!!! I’ll try the almond milk today, and if he doesn’t like that then I’ll have to try the regular soy! 🙃🙈

@miaheka, you’re welcome! I would keep trying all day even if he refuses. Sometimes we got to keep offering it.
